Can you believe its coming up to finals already!! this year is going by way to fast!
We all know how stressful finals are however it's not so bad when you find some great tips that help make study just a little less terrible.
I am a psychology student electing in theology this semester which means I have a lot to study.
I love looking up study tips, it is actually something I do when I procrastinate (guilty as charged!) so I have compiled a few of my favourites that have helped me and I hope they help you in some way!
Before starting study:
1. make sure you have a clean organised space with a range of stationary and all equipment you need.
2. make sure you have had a good sleep and are able to concentrate
3. make a to do list: (TIP: make sure you use smaller lists (5-10 items) that way it is less daunting and you get more done!)
4. important: remember why it is you are doing this subject and think about how it will help you in the future, it keeps you invested in your study.
During study:
- Work in blocks, many people use the 50/10 theory which means you work your bum off for 50 mins then take a 10 minute break. I find this keeps you active and ensures you don't get bored in study time
- look through your weekly plans and use lecture slides as a guide for studying
- make glossary of important terms with their definitions
-use one colour of highlighter to highlight in your notes what you don't understand so you can focus your time on something that is tricky for you
- study with your friends and work on a study plan. In our study group we have separated our topics so we can all compile our notes at the end, therefore the study load isn't so big
-know your study style and use it to your advantage, if you are a hands on type of person, use flash cards, if you are a visual person, use mind maps etc.
-TALK TO PEOPLE!! talking about your subject allows information to sink into your mind.
Before your exam:
- get a really good night sleep
-eat a healthy breakfast packed with brain food
-keep hydrated
-have a quick glance over notes you are still unsure of
Let me know if you have any other great study tips because I would love to be able to give them a go myself!
I hope these help in some way and I wish you all the best with your exams

DIY Nail polish holder
Hey there!I thought I would share this super cute DIY project that I put together the other day! It is a lovely way to keep your nail polishes organised and a nice dresser decoration!
Here is what you need:
1 shoe box lid (I used one from famous footwear because the pattern underneath was nice)
paint colour of your choice and newspaper (I used fabric paint as it was slightly thicker)
nail polishes
How to make Holder:
1. lay out newspaper and place shoe box lid on top
2. paint lid all over until covered including inside lid
3. let it dry
4. place all nail polishes inside lid
See how simple it is!!
For an extra touch, I also added a jar and filled it with cotton balls ready for removing nail polishes. I also placed a bottle of moisturising cream and nail polish remover ready for a full manicure/pedicure!
I hope you all enjoyed this cute little DIY! It's super easy and quick and looks awesome in your room or bathroom!
